2022 SILENT AUCTION TERMS
-for the sale of 150 lots of pens and pencils in a Silent Auction Format.
Lots withminimum bidswill be noted in catalogue.
1.THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT TO SEE IF IT CAN BE DONE EFFICIENTLY AND THIS
FORMAT WILL IN MY HOPE BENEFIT THE VAST CROSS SECTION OF PARTS AND
THE QUALITY AND SIZE OF MANY OF THE LOTS. I FEEL THE VOLUME
AND DIVERSITY OF GENRE REQUIRES A LONGER VIEWING PROCESS
WITH MORE INTERCHANGE WITH ME ABOUT SPECIFIC LARGE PARTS LOTS.
I APPRECIATE IN ADVANCE EVERYONE TAKING A BREATH THIS YEAR.
HAVE A DINNER WITH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER ON THURSDAY
AND SATURDAY OR GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY LOOKING THROUGH VINTAGE
AND OTHER PEN LOTS UNTIL 10:00 PM LIKE THE OLD DAYS….OR LATER…
REFRESHMENTS EACH EVENING DURING PREVIEW or BYOB,W,L Snacks etc.
2-Previewing all day on Thursday From 12:00 noon until 10:00 pm
Friday from 12:00 noon until 10:00 pm &
Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
3-Each bidder, per usual will have their own auction catalogue with a space RESERVED for BID NUMBER and CELL NUMBER. At the far right margin following lot descriptions will be three columns instead of the usual two columns in our current catalogues.
Use all three columns or only the column with your MAX BID.
3a:First column is OPTIONAL MINIMUM you would pay before inspection or after general inspection, or general notes.
3b:Second column is OPTIONAL notes or adjusted bid from first column up or down.
3c:Third column is for your MAX BID ONLY as if you were in a live AUCTION setting at HAMMER time.
Turning in a bid sheet with MAX BID ONLY column filled in will be recorded as a ‘LIVE BID’ and you are
expected to honor your bid as if we were all gathered in a live auction setting.
Please be certain of what you want to pay and enter into MAX BID ONLY column so it does not come down to a 'hat trick' see below***
4-BEFORE OR AT 5:00 PM Saturday night, catalogue bid sheets must be turned in to me at the auction preview ‘area’.
5-I will compare bids between high bidders from the sheets between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM Saturday night. During this time lots will be organized by high bidder.
5a:High bidders win the lots.
5b:If two or more competing bidders tie in the MAX BID ONLY column on their sheets
I will select winning bidders name from a CAULDRON in a ‘blind drawing containing the BID NUMBERS
OF EACH OF THE TIED PARTICIPANTS.
Blind Drawings on Lots will be announced live in preview area using the black cauldron.
I will ring a bell to signify there will be a drawing.
Please be certain of your MAX BID ONLY number so your success is not tied to chance!!!.
6-Between the hours of 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm we will be finalizing and running totals on the lots sold.
and sending texts to winning bidders that we are available to settle purchases.
‘Check Out’ on Saturday night between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm will be in preview area.
For those wishing to ‘check out’ on Sunday we will come to your table with the lots.
7- CONDITION OF ITEMS
All lots have been inspected for cracks, names and large gouges.
Pens with these issues will be noted as ‘Parts for Harvest’
These pens may not have nibs.
Inspection recommended on all lots.
7a:There will be lots for ‘restoration and resale’These pens have acceptable amounts of wear.
Lots of life and love to give.
Pens may have names or other tasteful engraving that do not affect function or overall aesthetic or design.
All pens in this class have nibs unless otherwise presented.
7b:There will be lots that are ‘collection worthy’ pieces that may have minor drawer wear or shop handling.
This includes but is not limited to Prototype, Experimental, Shop Model and Limited Edition Pens.

10% Buyers Fee
20% Restocking Fee per item for failure to honor MAX BID ONLY column on bid sheets.
